Many happily married people meet for the first time over drinks. There are several very different types of coffee, including espresso, cowboy coffee (yeast brewed in water), cappuccino and, at a glance, hundreds of derivatives, Greek, Turkish, Cypriot, and Egyptian coffee.

Now the last four are almost identical and are usually called coffee in their respective countries. In the United States, what is usually called coffee is a weaker brew that can be made from a filter coffee maker, 1 cup pod machine, or French press. 

With all types of coffee, there are a few basic things you need to know to make it well. There are the same pitfalls, and coffee of all kinds can unfortunately be good or terrible.

Coffee beans: Freshly roasted and ground is best. They should also be quality cereals. We all know which nuts we prefer and taste definitely plays a role. If you insist on canned coffee or use much better pads, T-discs, or K-cups that use some awesome single cup coffee makers, they should be new too. You can't sit around for months or years.
